- Design and Material Selection: Interior architects are responsible for selecting materials, finishes, and furnishings that meet the client's needs and fit within their budget. They must consider factors such as durability, aesthetics, and sustainability when selecting these elements.
- Technical Documentation: Interior architects create technical documentation, such as drawings and specifications, to communicate the design to other professionals involved in the project. These documents must be accurate and detailed to ensure that the design is executed as intended.
- Project Management: Interior architects are often responsible for managing the project from conception to completion. They must oversee the work of contractors and ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Building Codes and Regulations: Interior architects must have a deep understanding of building codes and regulations to ensure that the design meets all safety and accessibility requirements.
