**Job Purpose**

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure timely project completion. The role involves coordinating with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to track progress, identify delays, and propose mitigation measures.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare, monitor, and update the **project schedule** using planning software (e.g., **Primavera P6**, **MS Project**).
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to collect progress data and update schedules accordingly.
- Develop **baseline programs** and ensure all activities are aligned with project objectives and contractual timelines.
- Track project progress and prepare **weekly/monthly progress reports**.
- Identify potential **delays, risks, and bottlenecks** and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Analyze project performance using **Earned Value Management (EVM)** techniques.
- Prepare **resource allocation plans** and coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials according to project needs.
- Assist in **claims preparation** and provide time impact analyses when delays occur.
- Ensure compliance with **contractual requirements**, project specifications, and client expectations.
- Participate in **progress meetings** and present updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Support cost control teams by aligning schedules with **budget forecasts** and cash flow requirements.

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in **Civil Engineering**, **Construction Management**, or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum **5-8 years** of experience as a Planning Engineer in **construction/infrastructure projects**.

**Software Skills**:

- **Primavera P6** (mandatory)
- **MS Project**:

- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

**Knowledge of**:

- Project scheduling techniques
- Critical Path Method (CPM)
- Resource planning and management
- Claims and delay analysis
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
