1. Contribute significantly in designing and implementation of researchmethods and protocols; design safety procedures; adopt new processes,techniques, or instrumentation relative to research procedures.

2. Oversee general laboratory work relevant to assigned researchproject(s) and equipment maintenance; quality control analysis of reagents.

3. Collect, prepare and analyze research data; conductsearch-relevant scientific literature as needed; keep a detailednotebook summarizing experiments and recording research data; maintain acomputer database of research data; gather and disseminate datafor presentation in research conferences and for manuscriptpreparation; use graphics and statistical software to analyze andpresent data.

4. Supervise students and other personnel in the laboratory tocoordinate research efforts for increased efficiency; participate intraining of fellows, research assistance, students, and visitingresearch personnel as needed.

6. Assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment andwith general maintenance of laboratory.

7. Contribute to the publications outputs of QU through high impact publications.

8. Perform other research tasks and duties that may be occasionallyrequested to meet the requirements of the role and the strategic goalsof the research center.

Qualifications Required degree: PhD in hydrology, hydrogeology, water resources, environmental engineering or a related field

Field of specialization: hydrology with focus on surface water and groundwater hydrology and hydrological modeling (knowledge of contaminant transport phenomena is preferred).

**Required skills**:

- Excellent technical writing skills (publication samples are required)
- Recent GIS modeling experience
- Good coding skills (using Matlab, Python, or others)
- Good knowledge of statistical tools (e.g. R)

**Preferred skills**:

- Prior experience in water resources software (e.g. WEAP, SWAT, etc.)
