and gas companies. The operations and activities of QatarEnergy and its affiliates are conducted at various onshore

locations, including Doha, Dukhan and the Mesaieed and Ras Laffan Industrial Cities, as well as offshore areas, including

LEGAL

**Primary purpose of job**
The Corporate Affairs team acts as a strategic business partner primarily supporting QatarEnergy’s finance / tax business

units and advising the corporation on corporate law and financing structuring/restructuring as the group expands its local

and international activities, presence and investments. The team also provides general commercial / contract law advice to

different business units in the corporation and manages the legal aspects of the group’s IP portfolio.

As Senior Counsel, you will be primarily responsible for advising on corporate/finance transactions and structuring,

including preparation of legal documentation and execution and maintenance of corporate and financing/treasury structures

and operations for the corporation and its group, locally and globally. Experience of corporate / financing structures for

global investments in the Americas and Africa is helpful but not essential as we are supported by regional legal experts.

The Corporate Affairs is a friendly and tight-knit team who value collaboration. Therefore, a willingness to support the

broader legal work of the team is a must. This could include general commercial agreements (including sponsorship and

subscription agreements) and advice to business units on IT, cybersecurity and intellectual property matters, although we

have legal specialists in these fields who will be available to share knowledge and experience.

The role would suit a corporate / finance lawyer looking to make the transition from private practice to in-house or an

closely and collaboratively

**Experience & Skills**:

- At least 10 years of legal practice experience (common law or civil jurisdiction), with a good working knowledge of

corporate / commercial / contract law.
- Proven track record to work independently on complex legal matters.
- Superior analytical skills.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.

**Education**:

- Juris Doctorate. Bachelor of Law (LLB) or equivalent from recognized University.
