- **Surveillance**: Monitor infection rates, track and analyze infection data, and identify trends or outbreaks.
- **Staff Training**: Educate and train healthcare staff on infection prevention practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and infection control protocols.
- **Compliance**: Ensure adherence to infection control standards and regulations, including those set by organizations such as the CDC and OSHA.
- **Outbreak Management**: Investigate and manage infection outbreaks, including conducting contact tracing, implementing containment measures, and reporting findings.
- **Risk Assessment**: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential sources of infection and recommend corrective actions.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate and detailed records of infection control activities, including incidents, surveillance data, and compliance audits.
- **Collaboration**: Work with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to promote best practices in infection prevention and control.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: Registered Nurse (RN) with a bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field; certification in infection control (e.g., CIC - Certification in Infection Control) is often preferred.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in infection control, nursing, or a related healthcare role is beneficial.
