Consultant Gastroenterology

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide expert consultation and management for patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including but not limited to, inflammatory bowel diseases, liver diseases, digestive disorders, and gastrointestinal cancers.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other GI-related interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient diagnosis and needs.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay current with the latest research, treatments, and technology in the field of gastroenterology.
- Participate in the education and training of junior medical staff and fellows.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff regarding patient care protocols.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with medical and legal standards.
- Contribute to departmental initiatives, clinical audits, and quality improvement processes.
- Engage in continuing medical education and professional development activities.

**Qualifications**:

- A specialty degree in the relevant field, 3 years of post-specialty experience in a governmental, semi-governmental, or teaching hospital
- Board certification or equivalent specialization in Gastroenterology.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Consultant in Gastroenterology
- Expertise in gastrointestinal procedures including endoscopy, colonoscopy, and other diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions in a timely manner.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
