Aircraft Mechanic Lead (UC-35)1) Ensures that assigned personnel have access to and use adequate technical data during all phases of aircraft maintenance.

2) Participates in and enforces compliance with established Foreign Object Debris, FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs.

3) Monitors the status of aircraft in work and coordinates efforts with subordinate personnel and with support shop and branch supervisory personnel.

4) Monitors quality control reports and ensures that corrective measures are implemented to improve maintenance quality and prevent the development of adverse trends.

5) Within qualifications conducts inspections of aircraft and system maintenance to ensure quality and completeness.

6) Monitors and performs operational, functional and rig checks of flight controls, canopy, landing gear and throttle control systems. Also performs run and trim and operational checks of J-69/J-85 engines as necessary.

7) Assists assigned personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components and in determining the reparability and serviceability of parts and components in question.

8) Reviews aircraft records to ensure that required maintenance has been performed, that hourly and calendar tracked events are current and that all associated documentation has been completed.

9) Ensures that all necessary manual and automated records are completed as required by USAF and Company directives.

10) In coordination with the section supervisor and the training specialist provides on-the-job training of new employees.

11) Coordinate maintenance efforts to ensure the timely return of aircraft to mission capable status.

12) Plan the daily workflow of aircraft maintenance

13) Recover damaged aircraft and coordinate the flow of spare and repair parts

14) Review aircraft records for accuracy and completeness.

15) Provide on-the-job training for assigned personnel.

16) Coordinate with the manager and supervisors to carry out duties in an effective and efficient manner.

26) Participates in towing and movement of aircraft in performing maintenance activities.
