**Your new role, what's involved?**
- Review and approve material submittals, source approvals, and method statements from contractors.
- Ensure compliance of materials with relevant standards, specifications, QCS, and PWA requirements.
- Liaise with the PWA Materials Department and respond to technical comments and queries.
- Conduct regular site inspections related to materials storage, handling, and usage.
- Supervise field and laboratory testing in coordination with the QA/QC team and third-party laboratories.
- Maintain and update material approval logs, test reports, and related documentation.
- Identify non-conforming materials and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and technical meetings related to materials.
- Provide technical support to construction supervision teams and interface with design consultants as needed.
- Evaluate alternative material proposals and support value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure proper implementation of quality control procedures related to materials.
- Mentor and support junior material engineers and inspectors on site.

**We'd love to hear from you if you have**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of **10 years** of experience in material engineering, including at least **5 years** in a similar role on infrastructure projects in the Gulf region.
- Prior experience working on PWA/Ashghal projects is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), ASTM, BS, and international standards.
- Strong understanding of materials used in roads, drainage, and utilities projects.
- Proficiency in material tracking and documentation systems.
