**Job Summary**:
The **Safety Officer** is responsible for ensuring that all site activities comply with safety regulations and company HSE policies. With a NEBOSH certification, the Safety Officer plays a critical role in risk assessment, incident prevention, compliance monitoring, and safety awareness on construction or industrial sites. The goal is to maintain a safe working environment and prevent injuries, illnesses, and property damage.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Monitor day-to-day site activities to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Enforce safety protocols and intervene in unsafe acts or conditions.
- Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks for new and existing workers.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses, including root cause analysis.
- Maintain safety documentation, reports, permits, and records.
- Participate in emergency response drills and incident preparedness programs.
- Advise management on safety improvements and legal compliance.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and external inspectors.
- Ensure all site activities follow local labor laws and environmental regulations.

**Required Qualifications & Experience**:

- NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate) - **mandatory**.
- Minimum **3-5 years** of experience as a Safety Officer in construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of local and international HSE standards and legislation.
- Familiar with risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.

**Key Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong understanding of safety management systems and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Observant and detail-oriented with strong reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and incident reporting software.
- Ability to train and motivate workers on safe practices.

**Certifications (Required/Preferred)**:

- **NEBOSH IGC** - Required
- OSHA 30 / IOSH Managing Safely - Preferred
- First Aid / Fire Safety Certification - Preferred
- Confined Space / Working at Heights (as applicable)

**Working Conditions**:

- Work is primarily on construction/industrial sites with exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather.
- May require night shifts, overtime, or weekend work based on project needs.
- Requires wearing full PPE during site operations.
