Corporate Planning Manager

About the role

As Corporate Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing medium and long-term strategic initiatives, working on day-to-day functions, projects and ad-hoc tasks across the division. You will be managing analysis and data gathering requests, both internally within CP and between departments. Within a complex data environment, tasks will involve ensuring teams perform sound analytic processing and comprehensive market research to support informed decision-making within CP. Through your team member’s support (or independently), formulate and deliver recommendations to CP, and for management and the rest of the business (jointly). The role will steer decision making and represent CP on departmental cross-functional initiatives.

Network Planning/Network Performance
- Manage the development of the QR short
- and medium-term route network with supporting business cases developed through comprehensive analysis e.g. for new or existing routes
- Supervise and/or provide recommendations to maximize profitability by optimizing the allocation of capacity throughout the network e.g. new destinations, frequency changes and structural changes (aircraft, retime, tags, triangles)
- Monitor and review existing performance and identify ways to further enhance or improve operating results.
- Use the industry network planning tool(s) which encompasses:

- Running the model as base for business cases.
- Analyzing passenger flows, revenues and costs by route and verify forecasted versus actual performance.
- Improving the accuracy of the model’s data inputs through continuous fine-tuning.
- Initiate and develop reports and tools to improve CP decision-making.
- Support the Alliance & Partnership teams with model runs to validate future agreements.
- Support Aeropolitical and Corporate Affairs with ad-hoc information requests relating predominantly to potential new routes and supporting data.
- Ensure that the Corporate Planning developed QR short and long term plans are analyzed and implemented efficiently while ensuring optimal aircraft utilization and passenger connectivity.
- Continuously analyze the performance of the allocated routes and make proposals to optimize their profitability and ultimately the overall profitability of Qatar Airways.
- Manage the development of the Annual Budget Operating Plan and updates to the plan.
- Provide input to the 5 year Network plan.

Qualifications

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Network Planning Team.
- Minimum qualification of bachelor’s degree (Master 's degree preferred)
- 7+ years of job-related experience
- Comprehensive understanding of aviation economics, strategic planning and business management.
- Project management experience.
- Able to manage and scrutinize detailed analysis
- Ability to produce and deliver persuasive management ready presentations.
- Proven ability to mentor and develops new network planners
