Paramedic

**Job Summary**:
To provide immediate first aid, assess medical emergencies, and manage cases effectively within the campus premises. The paramedic will ensure timely and appropriate escalation of care to the QU Health Center (PHCC) or the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at HMC as required, while maintaining communication and support until the handover to EMS staff. Additionally, the role involves proactive measures to enhance campus safety, prevent emergencies, and promote health awareness.

**Emergency Medical Response**:

- Respond promptly to all medical emergencies on campus.
- Conduct thorough assessments of medical emergencies to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Assess the scene of an incident to ensure safety and determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Provide basic life support (BLS) and advanced first aid care, including wound care, bleeding control, fracture stabilization.
- Monitor patient conditions and vital signs.
- Make sound decisions regarding the need for further medical assistance, either through transfer to QU Health Center or activation of 999 EMS.
- Accompany patients to the QU Health Center or remain with them until EMS arrives, providing a comprehensive handover to medical personnel.

**Emotional and Psychological Support.**
- Offer initial emotional support to individuals experiencing distress during medical emergencies.
- Refer students or staff in need of further psychological assistance to appropriate counseling services.

**Proactive Health and Safety Measures.**
- Maintain and routinely inspect first aid kits to ensure readiness.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Regularly check and maintain medical equipment to ensure proper functioning.

**Incident Documentation and Reporting**
- Document all cases handled, including the nature of the incident, actions taken, and outcomes.
- Collect and analyze medical incident data to identify trends and propose preventive measures.
- Provide periodic reports to university administration on the frequency and types of emergencies.

**Collaboration and Engagement**
- Participate in university events and health campaigns to promote safety and well-being.
- May participate in providing first aid training and awareness programs to the university community.
- Stay updated on current first aid practices and guidelines.
- Share new knowledge with the campus community to enhance emergency response capabilities.

Flexibility to work shifts or on-call hours as required.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or equivalent.

Valid Paramedic license in Qatar.

Minimum of [Number] years of experience as a Paramedic, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.

Current certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Excellent command of English and Arabic (spoken and writing)
