**Job Purpose**

The Librarian will create an inspiring, creative environment that should nurture a passion for reading.

The Librarian should demonstrate initiative and leadership in the library. The main purpose of the role is for the Librarian to primarily work with children, sharing stories and creating fluid displays which promote a variety of children’s authors and a range of genres. The librarian should collaborate with class teachers and Milepost Leaders, creating a link between theme weeks, Global Campus challenges, and IPC units; ensuring the books on display inspire children to become skilful researchers.

**About the role**

We’ll look to you to promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that are aligned to our school’s Primary curriculum and creating a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. You will foster an environment of respect within the classroom, facilitating learning through questioning and discussion.

**About you**

Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will possess a university degree, a recognised Librarian qualification. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own duties and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative methods to raise the school’s Library level of achievement.
- Preferably under husband/family sponsorship
- 2 years’ experience as a Librarian
- Excellent English speaker

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in library science or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a related field
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of library database
- In-depth knowledge of library policies, procedures, and practices
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- knowledge of conservation and preservation techniques for library materials
