**Qualification & Experience**
- Degree / Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution / college / university acceptable to Kahramaa.
- Ability to communicate, read and write in English at Secondary School Level.
- Minimum 02 years for Degree holders and 04 years for Diploma holders in Protection of EHV Live system, Transmission systems with similar utility. Should be familiar with Numerical relay setting, testing etc. and numerical relay test equipment's (single/3 phase).
- Knowledge of Safety Rules and Regulations.
- Ability of identifying the parts and usage of proper tools.

**Major Duties**
- To carry out the protection maintenance work, commissioning testing of relays, CTs, PTs, alarm control equipments, calibration of metering equipments etc.
- Corrective maintenance of protection and control circuits including trouble shooting/rectification of various defects reported in the transmission substations.
- Routine maintenance of primary substations up to 400 kV voltage level excluding 11 kV outgoing circuits of primary substations and keeping records as per KM requirements.
- Pre commissioning works in KM transmission substations and repair of defective electronic equipments and relays etc.
- Maintenance of protection test sets, meters, tools and equipment's used for day to day works.
- Assists KM Engineers and KM Supervisor/Technicians.
- Involve in the commissioning of various protection schemes in KM transmission network.
- Any work related to decommissioning of old substations.
- Relay setting changes (Numerical/ Static/ Electromagnetic relays).
- Protection works related to FO cable activities/rectification ofSCS/Telemetry defects.
- TOC/FAC inspection and preparation of defect lists/status updates.
- Substation inspections and to report any abnormality in the protection/control circuits.
- Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor.

**Other Significant Requirements**:

- Good technical knowledge.
- Fluent in English and ability to communicate with superiors.
- Requires extensive traveling between venues/depots during normal and or outside office hours.
- Requires mobile communication while on duty outside the office.
- Requires mobile communication outside normal office hours for emergency purposes.
- Proper efficient technical staff with required Tools, Instruments (as necessary for a Protection Technician for independent work in KM Stations). KM will provide only primary & secondary test set for the above works and it is the responsibility of the contractor to use it carefully.
- All the routine works are to be carried out as per KM approved method statements and Test Reports at KM approved schedules.
