Calibration Technician

**Responsibilities**: - **Instrument Receipt & Inspection**: - Receive instruments for calibration from customers and check their physical condition and functionality. - Verify the quantity and type of instruments received against the customer’s delivery note or memo (if any). - Prepare Calibration Service Request cum Instrument Receipt Challan and issue a copy to the customer for acknowledgment of receipt. - **Instrument Preparation**: - Paste masking tape on the instruments with the details of Calibration Service Request Number (Job Number) and the instrument serial number. - Place instruments in the identified area labeled "Instruments Received for Calibration." - Clean the instruments before calibration, using petrol and cotton waste for mechanical instruments. - **Calibration Process**: - Place instruments in the calibration standard room for at least 30 minutes to bring them to equilibrium conditions before starting calibration. - Perform calibration of instruments according to the documented calibration method, based on priority. - Ensure that calibration methods are available and followed during the calibration process. - Record calibration results on observation sheets. - **Review & Approval**: - Complete calibration and get the review and approval of results recorded in the observation sheet from the Technical Manager. - Calculate uncertainty of measurement for the instruments calibrated, as per customer requests. - Enter observation sheet data into the computer system and prepare calibration certificates. - **Documentation & Delivery**: - Get approval of the calibration certificate through the Technical Manager/Chief Executive Officer. - Attach photocopies of master calibration certificates used during calibration and include them with the completed calibration certificates. - Place calibrated instruments at the identified location in the calibration room after completion. - Deliver the instruments along with the calibration certificate to the customer. - **Quality Assurance & Record Maintenance**: - Ensure that proper records are maintained at all stages of calibration and quality assurance activities. - Prepare daily records of mechanical/electrical/thermal discipline activities. - Ensure that instruments are handled safely and properly throughout the calibration process. - **Environment Monitoring & Analysis**: - Monitor accommodation and environment parameters (such as temperature, humidity, noise, illumination, electrical supply, earthing resistance) regularly and maintain records. - Analyze records and provide feedback to the Technical Manager in case of customer complaints. - Perform re-calibration of instruments as per the quality assurance schedule. - **Uncertainty & Resource Management**: - Prepare uncertainty budgets for all calibration parameters and ensure that they are used periodically for uncertainty of measurement. - Identify requirements for consumable purchases and forward them to the Technical Manager. - Help the Technical Manager with day-to-day activities and report to the Technical Manager on the functioning of calibration tasks. - **Safety & Corrective Action**: - Stop calibration activities if proper environmental conditions are not maintained. - Take corrective and preventive actions related to customer complaints or calibration results as identified in analysis. **Requirements**: - Valid QID and NOC required (immediate availability). - Proven experience as a Calibration Technician or in a similar role. - Knowledge of calibration procedures and standards for mechanical, electrical, and thermal instruments. - Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. - Familiarity with uncertainty of measurement and quality assurance schedules. - Ability to work independently and in a team environment. - Good communication skills and ability to follow technical instructions. Pay: QAR1,700.00 - QAR2,000.00 per month
