As a Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe design, operation, and maintenance of industrial processes and facilities. This includes identifying and mitigating process safety risks, developing safety systems and procedures, and providing technical expertise to support compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) to identify potential hazards and risks associated with industrial processes
- Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) programs, including process safety information, operating procedures, mechanical integrity, and management of change
- Perform quantitative risk assessments and consequence modeling to evaluate the likelihood and severity of potential incidents
- Review process design, equipment specifications, and operating procedures to ensure process safety requirements are met
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel on process safety best practices
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Stay up to date with relevant process safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and EHS, to ensure a holistic approach to process safety

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering
- 5+ years of experience as a Process Safety Engineer or in a related role
- Proficient in process hazard analysis (PHA) techniques, such as HAZOP, FMEA, and fault tree analysis
- Knowledgeable in process safety management (PSM) principles and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP)
- Skilled in the use of process safety software and modeling tools
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) is preferred

**Specialization**:

- In carrying out Process safety workshops and Studies like HAZOP, HAZAN, HAZID, SIL, QRA, BRA, CRA, ERA, FERA, EERA etc.
- Experienced with software HAZOP Manager, PHA PRO8, exSILentia, DNV PHAST/SAFETI.
- The key skills required are performing/ developing:

- Hazard Identification (HAZID),
- Hazard and Operability (HAZOP),
- Safety Integrity Level Classification (SIL),
- Fire and Explosion Risk Analysis (FERA),
- Qualitative Risk Assessments (QRA),
- Thermal Radiation and Dispersion Analysis,
- Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) workshop,
- Safety Audits, Chemical Process Modelling/ Simulation,
- Development of Technical Standards,
- Active and Passive Fire Protection, and
- Gap Analysis.
