**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or ITI certificate or equivalent;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Foreman in marine field with well-known company and team leading responsibities;
- Heavy industry experience;
- Shipyard experience will be preferred.
- Working knowledge of English (verbal and written);
- Knowledge of Hindi will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ship repair yard functions and activities;
- Ability to read the certificates, procedures and plans, installation, start up and operation manual and follow systems/ equipment start-ups procedures and troubleshooting;
- Ability to lift very heavy items;
- Strong knowledge in rigging/lifting operations;
- Understand cranes capacities and charts;
- Ability to prepare lifting procedures;
- Good knowledge of estimating hours for rigging operations.

**Task Description**:

- To ensure support to other sections with regard to fork lifts and cranes operations. To maintain lifting equipment in good operational conditions in coordination with maintenance department. To work as a leader, coach, supervise and coordinate the team for on time completion of the awarded projects as well as to improve the day
- to
- day work activities and facilities. Independently carry out all activities assigned with self-motivation as per Shipyard Management system standards and procedures. Coordinate and instruct team members as per the duty received. To follow strictly health, safety, environment and quality procedures and policies.
- Fully responsible for specific team(s) supervision, team coordination, team leadership, other sections coordination for support, follow up, report and request support from line manager in order to accomplish the activities at the earliest;
- Coordinate with other sections personnel on respective own assigned tasks in order to accomplish on time the activities and report to your superior for any bottle necks for support;
- Ensure strict supervision of team personnel (lifting equipment operators) towards maximum productivity and efficiency, with safety and quality first in mind;
- Supervise and lead subordinates in the department and troubleshoot/solve problems and work towards improvement of team members and facility/tools/equipment;
- Ensure any material/equipment is offloaded on designated areas only
- Follow up strictly the assignments, organize and coordinate to execute the tasks/activities as per the approved documentation.
- Ensure all rigging tools/equipment is certified prior to use;
- Ensure lifting procedures are strictly followed and request procedure if non available for particular job;
- Open work permits
- Follow strictly the approved documented procedures and request amendments if deviations are applicable;
- Advise and recommend procedures improvement and equipment purchase in order to save hours and perform as per high safety and quality standards available in the shipyard;
- Responsible for investigations and corrective actions;
- Responsible for assigned budgeted manhours control, targeting to improve and save hours;
- Responsible for accurate keep tracking of manhours consumed by each team member;
- Responsible for direct input and accurate bookings in the time sheets/ system;
- Plan and project manpower requirement. Ensure man-power requirements are communicated to / from the Foreman and are available;
- Report any deviation from schedule and inform in advance supervisor for any risks, deviations and issues expected;
- Responsible for ordering requesting equipments in advance to avoid any delays
- Ensure all employees are properly supervised and have all the necessary tooling, equipment, specifications, drawings and procedures to properly accomplish their jobs;
- De-conflict work and inform the Foreman of any potential problem that jeopardizes completion of quality work within budget and schedule;
- Attend daily production tool box meetings and coordinate the assignments with other shops and ensure projected goals are met and all issues are being addressed;
- Provide necessary support to all sections and perform the requested task as demanded;
- Monitor processes for continuous improvement and ensures the fullest support by all supervision;
- Work with trades / shops to develop training plans and ensure all personnel, including temporary labour, have been properly selected/ trained;
- Hold joint responsibility with Project Manager for trade performance to meet contract quality, schedule and budget performance;
- Perform all job functions in accordance with MILAHA’s Mission and Vision Core values;
- Prepare job completion reports and submit to Foreman for information.
