**Key Responsibilities**:
**Tender Preparation and Management**:

- Lead and manage the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and scope of works.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all tender requirements are met and the tender is accurately prepared.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and risk assessments to ensure accurate pricing.

**Cost Estimation**:

- Provide accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications, drawings, and materials.
- Analyze costs for labor, materials, equipment, and other necessary expenses.
- Develop cost models, create budgets, and assess the financial viability of bids.

**Tender Submissions**:

- Oversee the preparation and submission of tender responses, ensuring compliance with all required formats and deadlines.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Review and select the best commercial offer based on risk, cost, and technical capability.

**Contract Negotiation**:

- Participate in contract negotiations with clients, contractors, and suppliers to finalize terms and conditions.
- Ensure contracts are signed, terms are clear, and there is a mutual understanding of deliverables.

**Market Research and Supplier Management**:

- Conduct market research to assess pricing trends, industry standards, and changes in construction costs.
- Develop relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure a reliable and competitive supply chain.

**Risk Management**:

- Identify potential risks and issues that could affect the tendering process and the overall cost of the project.
- Mitigate risks through strategic planning, forecasting, and contingency budgeting.

**Reporting and Documentation**:

- Maintain detailed records of all tendering processes, including communications, calculations, and final submissions.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to senior management, ensuring transparency and clarity in the tendering process.

**Team Leadership and Training**:

- Lead, mentor, and manage junior quantity surveyors or tendering specialists within the team.
- Provide guidance on industry best practices and ensure that the team’s output meets the required standards.
- Lead the preparation, submission, and management of tender documents for fit-out projects.
- Analyze tender documentation, specifications, and drawings for fit-out works to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids, quotations, and negotiate terms, particularly for interior and finishing trades.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and provide recommendations for budget management and cost control.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, interior designers, and engineers to ensure tender submissions meet project requirements.
- Maintain oversight of the tendering schedule, meeting all deadlines and upholding quality standards.
- Engage with suppliers and vendors to source and negotiate materials and services for fit-out works.

**Skills and Qualifications**:
**Technical Skills**:

- Expertise in construction cost estimation and quantity surveying principles.
- Strong knowledge of tendering procedures, contract law, and cost management techniques.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, CostX, Buildsoft, or similar).

**Experience**:

- Typically requires a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a significant focus on the tendering aspect.
- Experience in large-scale or complex projects is often preferred.

**Education**:

- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
- Professional certification, such as membership in RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or a similar body, is highly valued.

**Communication and Negotiation**:

- Strong negotiation skills for dealing with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare tender documentation and reports.

**Attention to Detail**:

- Strong attention to detail, especially in preparing tender documentation and cost estimates.

**Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills**:

- Ability to assess complex information and develop strategies to address challenges and risks within the tendering process.
