Job Purpose

Rigger is responsible for machine operation in moving heavy objects and assists the operator using hand signals and other means to direct equipment operators and help guide the things into place.

Job Roles/Responsibilities

Perform pre-use inspections of rigging gadgets for lifting jobs such as shackles, slings & other related lifting equipment for incoming & outgoing materials used in the platforms to confirm raising gear condition, load capacity, and inspection validity date.
Ensure lifting equipment observes proper color coding.
Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure the safety of workers and materials.
Select proper rigging components and rigging system configurations for rigging loads utilizing as necessary, manufacturer or standard tables to confirm the rigging system SWL meets the lift load capacity requirement
To assist in loading, unloading, discharging, or receipt of any and all equipment, supplies, and materials
Stay on the job site until adequately relieved. Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use
Carry out day-to-day working activities in rigging for the rig support services. Segregate the scrap metals waste, and contaminated material.
Unload shipments safely and move items to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the goods in the appropriate areas.
Carry out emergency rope splicing and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle for emergency cases
Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts.

Job Requirement

High School Diploma

Rigging, Slinging & Banksman Qualification from an internationally recognized body

Minimum 3 years of experience in materials handling operations in Logistics Shore base/Material warehouse
