**Job Purpose**:
The Auto Technician is responsible for carrying out advanced diagnostics, complex mechanical and electrical repairs, and guiding junior technicians. This role requires a deep understanding of vehicle systems and a high level of technical skill, with an emphasis on accuracy, safety, and customer satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform advanced diagnostics using OEM-approved diagnostic tools and interpret technical data accurately.
- Repair and overhaul complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems such as engines, transmissions, ABS, air conditioning, and fuel injection systems.
- Lead and guide junior technicians and assist them with troubleshooting and technical challenges.
- Ensure all repairs and services are completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain clear documentation of work orders, diagnostic reports, and service records.
- Perform test drives and inspections to validate the repair quality and ensure vehicle performance.
- Report any major faults or safety issues immediately to the Workshop Supervisor.
- Stay up to date with manufacturer training programs and industry standards.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma or Certification in Automotive Technology or related field.
- Minimum 6-8 years of hands-on experience in automotive repair, including at least 2 years as a senior or Grade 3 technician.
- Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing modern automotive systems.
- OEM certifications (e.g., Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, etc.) are an advantage.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, tools, and software.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and workshop compliance standards.
