MEP ENGINEER

QUALIFICATION: - B.TECH/BE. MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- 1. Managed the MEP engineering team to deliver projects on time and within budget, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Lead design reviews for all new construction projects as well as existing facilities undergoing renovation or expansion.
- Developed project schedules using Microsoft Project software and ensured that they are realistic by coordinating with other departments such as finance, operations, etc., when necessary.
- Assisted in preparing bid documents for capital projects including preparation of specifications and drawings based upon approved plans and scope of work.
- Provided technical support during pre-construction meetings with contractors regarding contract requirements and reviewed contractor’s shop drawings prior to submittal to ensure compliance with the approved plans & specifications.
- Developed and maintained a comprehensive knowledge base for all systems that were monitored by the team
- Designed and implemented new engineering processes and procedures.
- Conducted research and feasibility studies for new engineering projects.
- Prepared and presented reports and findings to engineering management.
- Advise the Project Director of any technical aspects of the mechanical services that may affect construction progress, e.g. quality or snagging.
- Continually review the contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of site works with regards to MEP services and report to the project Director on the same.
- Manage the day to day work of the MEP team.
- In conjunction with the document controller, ensure that the filing/logging of the MEP documentation is undertaken in line with the project handbook and continually monitor the same
- Take part in risk workshops and report any risks associated with MEP installations or general project to the Project Director.
- Review Contractor’s installation method statements.
- Review Contractor’s shop drawings against the design [tender] drawings for compliance with the design intent and return to Project Director with appropriate comments / approval within the specified contractual period (normally 10 working days).
- Where required prepare technical clarifications to the tendered design to suit specific on-site construction and co-ordination issues.
- Review Contractor’s mechanical & Electrical services material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advise the Project Director on the appropriateness of the proposals.
- Monitor and promote health and safety on the site. Record and report any breaches to the Project Manager. If required stop the construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
- Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager.
- Undertake prior review of Contractor’s proposed mechanical system testing & commissioning methods and schedule.
- Undertake final project snagging and prepare list of defects for Contractor’s action.
- Attend project progress meetings.
- Prepare the MEP section of the Project Managers monthly progress report.
- Ensure that daily progress reports are produced with regards to MEP works.

**Salary**: QAR5,000.00 - QAR6,000.00 per month
