Assistant Head of Secondary Ks5

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional leader to join the school’s ambitious leadership team. This position is the equivalent to a UK Deputy Head and reports directly to the Head of Secondary. This specific role is Assistant Head of Secondary - with key responsibilities for curriculum, assessment and line management of faculties and Key Stage 5.

- Be reflective practitioners committed to continued professional growth
- Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of the curriculum and drive improvements in the quality of Teaching and Learning through line management of faculty teams
- Have a proficient understanding of assessment practices and use of both formative and summative assessment to drive teaching and learning
- Provide critical analysis of the progress, intervention, and achievement for all children using a range of analytical approaches
- Can demonstrate impact in previous senior or middle leadership roles
- Have knowledge and experience of using evidence based pedagogical approaches within the classroom, including the use of technology
- Provide classroom experiences centered around challenge and enjoyment for all students
- Preferably have knowledge and experience of teaching EAL students
- Preferably have experience of timetabling and deployment of staffing to meet curriculum needs

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Strategic lead for Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting
- Strategic lead and development of the whole school timetable advising the Executive team on staffing and deployment
- Oversee school Admissions, Exams and Careers
- Line manage Heads of Faculty and quality assure action planning to lead the development of the curriculum and teaching and learning
- Ensure the active involvement of students and staff in their own learning
- Be an excellent role model, exemplifying a high standard of teaching and promoting high expectations for all members of the school community
- Play a leading role in the school improvement and school self-evaluation planning process
- Oversee academic and pastoral care for Key Stage 5 and line manage the Key Stage 5 Phase Leader
- Lead staff Performance Management Meetings and when required devise personal improvement plans.
- Be the academic focal point for the Ministry of Education matters
