**Position: Nurse**

**Job Summary**:
The nurse mainly works on the promotion of health and prevention of disease and also the promotion of awareness with health related issues.

**Key Duties**:
Key duties include but are not limited to the below:

- Prepare and develop a program that includes lists of scheduled activities that will be implemented during the whole School year period such as: Quarterly hair inspection against lice on each child in every class
- Check the hygiene level of every child (hair, nails & ears)
- Report the names of children who are positive of head lice to the management.
- Give necessary advices to parents who had kids with head lice regarding its treatment as well as its prophylaxis when needed.
- Maintain a record of every child’s immunization and be knowledgeable about immunization schedules based on ages of the children
- Maintain a record of medicine administered which enclose parents’ consent, name of medicine, dose and time medicine was administered with witness’ signature.
- Other responsibilities include:

- Arrange doctor’s monthly visit, make class schedule and report to the Management
- Identify children with health conditions by: Reviewing their individual files upon enrolment
- Discuss with the parents about the health issues of their child including the treatment or management made based on the doctor’s notes.
- Keep the records of those children with health conditions like Bronchial asthma, food and drug allergies for future references.
- Require parents to provide the required emergency drugs/medications used and to be administered in case of emergency needs.
- Attend to any child who needs an immediate attention and administer necessary medical intervention like in the events of an accident.
- Inform parents in event that may arise to their children so as they will be brought home or to a Doctor.
- Write and record any incident or accident that had happened on the child while they are in the campus and report the incident to the school Director for necessary action.
- Follow up on incident report with parents to make sure signed by teacher, management and parents.
- Obtain parents or guardians consent before administering any medications to children.
- Supervise the children during the Play time activity indoor or outdoor.
- Responsible to provide info and awareness related to: Infectious diseases like H1N1, chicken pox, hand foot & mouth diseaseetc. or any other illness or sickness
- Weather conditions (what staff and parents should do)
- Keep Allergy board updated with student allergy cards
- Keep nurse room tidy, clean and up to a very high hygienic standard.
- Administer medicine only in the Nurse's room
- Keep track of expired medication
- Follow up on her own Nurse License renewal
- To follow up on the clinic license with the Mandoub/ QCHP
- To follow up with QCHP on all the needed training.
- Arrange CPR training courses for staff yearly
- Prepare a First Aid training seminar for staff
- Arrange some health related educational activities and events for children like dentist visit / ambulance visit etc.
- Perform any other duties as instructed by management or owners
