About the role

Licensed Aircraft Engineer Defect Control is responsible for identifying analyzing and managing aircraft defects ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards. Investigating, analyzing the recurrent defects and provide troubleshooting recommendations is one of the main functions of Defect Control Engineer. To perform an in-depth evaluation of current/ emerging fleet issues and provide troubleshooting recommendations thus ensuring high Technical Dispatch Reliability.

Some of the tasks include:

- Monitoring/analyzing repetitive/recurrent defect across the fleet and investigate and issue troubleshooting recommendations.
- Monitoring of aircraft defects via Airman/AHM and providing indication of recurrent defects that require preventative maintenance.
- To provide all troubleshooting assistance to line stations during significant AOG or out of service events within the ambit of maintenance data.
- To provide data to QR Engineering, manufacturers when all troubleshooting guidelines supplied to the network have been exhausted.
- Structured approach to the resolution of technical issues identified by MOCC or the Qatar Airways Operational Management. This may include complex defects, and/or customer requests.
- To ensure that all appropriate legislative and Company Procedures are adhered to in order to ensure that the company remains compliant and airworthy.

**Qualifications**:
About you
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or Trade or vocational aircraft maintenance qualification or Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
- Holds minimum 1 full QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license and approvals.
- Valid Aircraft Maintenance License
- Aircraft certifying experience preferably with MOCC background
- Good Troubleshooting skills
- Defect rectification and maintenance operations experience
- Managerial skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
