Monitors and inspects all major components of the Qatar University buildings’ electrical infrastructure to ensure the systems are operating in accordance with regulated standards and criteria, meeting designed performance levels and providing acceptable continuous service.
- Carries out emergency repairs and makes alternative arrangements in response to mechanical and electrical failures, so as to minimize the impact on operations.
- Ensures proper completion of Work Orders and Work Requests following the QU Maintenance Management System.
- Prepares requisitions for materials and supplies.
- Conducts regular inspections, tests, checks and verifications on equipment condition and performance.
- Provides emergency repairs and alternatives in response to Electrical equipment failures so as to minimize interruption of service.
- Adjusts, calibrates, re-aligns and repairs equipment and installations to the required performance measures.
- Knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical power distribution systems, Transformers, switch gears, safety practices safety practices and procedures in the isolation of electrical systems, switching controls, lighting systems, power generation, fire and security alarms and detection systems.
- Knowledge of heating and air-conditioning systems
- Ability to interpret and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and Schematics.
- Skills and ability to use various electrical instruments and equipment for inspections and fault finding such as High Voltage cable insulation test cable locators, volt-ohm-amp meters, voltage testers and other electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Experience in supervising and providing direction and advice to electrical contractors. The incumbent also requires good oral and written communication skills to provide reports to management relating to observed occurrences or circumstances upon which operational decisions will be based.
- Ability to work without technical assistance.
- Performs diversified skilled work involving revision and installation of electronic and electrical circuits and equipment.
- Diagnoses and repairs any malfunctioning electrical and electronic systems, including but not limited to switchboards, motors, heaters, generators, starters, switches, welders, signals, cutouts, variable speed motors.
- Responds in a timely manner under all weather conditions to ensure proper facility operations.

**Experience and Education**:

- Technical Training Course Certificate ( Full Time 2 years ) in Electrician / Technician in electrical specialization from recognized Govt. Institutes / or accredited colleges / or national Technical Course Certification Authority like ITI, TESDA, NVQ etc.
- Minimum of 3 years (1.5 years GCC) of building electromechanical equipment maintenance experience in Education Institute / Hospital / Residential Complex with a construction Services / facility management organization.
- Minimum of 4-5 years (1.5 years GCC) Operations & maintenance Experience in LV Panels, MCCs, SMDBs/DBs, cable testing, external lighting, plant lighting etc. Electromechanical equipment maintenance experience in in Education Institute / Hospital / Residential Complex with a construction Services / facility management organization.
