Senior Port Planning Engineer Qatar Permanent Petroplan are currently looking to recruit a Senior Port Planning Engineer for ongoing port development projects which include coastal risks and all marine related, shipping and navigation matters based in Qatar.Our clients is an integrated national oil corporation that stands at the forefront of efforts for the long term sustainable development, utilization and monetization of oil and gas resources in the State of Qatar. Thriving on innovation and excellence, our client is bound to the highest levels of sustainable human, socio-economic, and environmental development in Qatar and beyond.Primary purpose of job Provide expertise on Port development, coastal risks and all marine related, shipping and navigation matters to our client and Asset Operators. Lead planning of Ports infrastructure and marine resourcesExperience & Skills Minimum 20 years' experience in port development and planning. Regional, governmental port authority experience is desirable. Strong working knowledge of international, regional, and corporate regulations applicable to the maritime industry in general and to port operations and port logistics planning. Knowledge of principles, practices and economics involved in the design and operation of various types of port and harbour facilities, international conventions and practices relating to the design and operation of multi-product ports. Knowledge and experience within Port and energy organizations. Knowledge and understanding of ports and shipping tariff's structure analysis highly desired. Excellent oral and written English combined with strong presentation and influencing skills. Ability to work with limited supervision, exercising a high degree of self-motivation and discipline. Strong "relationship builder" attitude, and comfortable in working with senior management and a broad range of external parties. Ability to work under tight schedules using strong organizational and time management skills. Education Internationally recognized degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Master Mariner Class 1.
