The role will be responsible for performing the purchasing and payables processes in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring full compliance with the policies and procedures of the university, including the use of appropriate and existing financial controls.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the purchase order processing activity: check validity of requests to purchase, obtain any additional necessary paperwork, manage any noncompliance requests and assist in the supplier sourcing as necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of Purchase Orders and AP invoices (i.e. invoice/ payment processing, report preparation, etc.) in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Complete purchase order (PO) files, perform price analysis, receive appropriate approvals.
- Maintain Procure to Pay paid files and documentation in accordance to policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Provide information on the status of purchase order and payments.
- Communicate Procure to Pay policies and procedures to suppliers, faculty, staff and other stakeholders; respond to inquiries.
- Ensure proper month-end accounting cut-off of Procure to Pay transactions.
- Reconcile supplier statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
- Assist in the year-end audit and other Finance activities/projects including process improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years prior work experience in the Finance Office, preferably in a university setting.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines and in a high-volume, quick-paced environment.
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
- Strong command of the English language (both verbal and written).
- Advanced computer skills. Proficiency in using Excel preferred.
- Knowledge of _WorkDay_ is an asset.
