Dock Master

To ensure the efficient, safe and effective daily management of the marinas and Dock Attendants. Responsible for the safe mooring of boats and general operations of the service docks. Facilitate and assist in coordinating the arrival and departure of boats. Maintain a safe and clean environment. Act as the initial liaison between customers, Dock Attendants, and customer service.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Smooth running of Marina Operations.
- Controlling all safety aspects of the marina.
- Training of Marina operations staff.
- Excellent customer service skills required to meet a varied and challenging customer base.
- Organize weekly Dock Attendants and food schedules.
- Do interviews for recruitment of Marina Staff.
- A flexi and ‘hands on’ approach alongside skills and ability to undertake the key roles of the team is required to ensure service requirements and team responsibilities are met.
- Must be able to find efficient, cost effective and innovative solutions to improve service or standards provision whilst following company rules, procedures, policies and methods.
- Excellent customer service skills required to meet a varied and challenging customer base.
- Must make daily decisions regarding the management and planning of Marina activities.
- Checking of Marina logs.
- Over see Boat cleaning Contracts.
- Safety of the Marina, dockhands and our clients.
- Dockhand in house training.
- Ensure high level of professional service.
- Management and oversee of the Water Taxi Service.
- Managing and maintaining the TYHA Gold Anchor Award Scheme.
- Over see Dock Attendants accommodation.
- Lead dockhands in marina related duties such as securing boats to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (telephone, power and water).
- Perform related duties assigned or as the situation dictates.
- Direct, move, assist, and securely moor boats to dock.
- Maintaining the pontoons, piles, chains and mooring buoys.
- Ensuring the safety equipment's are in good working conditions (fire extinguisher, fire hoses, first aids kits ).
- Control traffic along waterway.
- Meet daily with department supervisors to facilitate the day’s activities.
- Maintain accurate records, both paper and electronic, related to billing, work orders and hours worked.
- Maintain awareness of and continually practice safe work habits.
- To ensure that the Dock Attendant personnel receive adequate training and support to undertake their roles, and promote a culture of continuous personal development and improvement.
- To support the provision of high standards of safety and services of RME.
- Promotes the marina services offered by RME to the general population of Qatar.
- To assist and coordinate with other departments in the planning, organization and provision of events.
- Assisting in Nautical Activities with my specialist skills.
