**Job Title**: Port Operations Chargehand

**Location**: Qatar

**Job Purpose (English)**:
To oversee and allocate Reach Stacker, Forklift, Tug Master Operators and Stevedoring Labors with the prime objective to maximize productivity and efficiency of the quayside operation.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Allocate duties of subordinates and check on the quality of work undertaken to maximize the efficiency of the port operations.
- Ensure that any relevant documentation including time and location booking is full completed, maintained and checked.
- Receive shipments at the warehouse, supervise unloading activities and ensure correct stacking and allocation of shipments to facilitate access for inspection and avoid damage.
- Provide ongoing directions and instructions to Stevedores, Reach Stacker and Forklift Operators and Tug Masters regarding the allocation of work and breaks throughout the shift to maximize the efficiency of the port operations.
- Ensure that all shipments stored in the warehouse are stocked properly and protected from deterioration and weather conditions.
- Responsible to ensure hazardous cargos stored in accordance with the requirement of the IMDG segregation table.
- Ensure that cargo shipments are properly handled and segregated and maintain a high standard of efficiency in the exportation and importation of cargo. Oversee the accurate allocation and collection of stevedore tools and equipment from the Quayside Equipment Control so that port employees have the required equipment to perform tasks.
- Ensure effective maintenance of adequate warehouse database within TOS and perform physical checking and counting on cargo items and prepare reconciliation reports to resolve any discrepancies.
- Ensure that all shipments and cargo deliveries and processed within the Terminal Operating System (TOS) where appropriate with all required paper work, permissions, payments, etc.

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in supervisory roles whose tasks are similar.

**Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical)**:

- Basic knowledge about port operations.
- Proficiency in English (preferred)
- Ability to work with stakeholder through collaboration and teamwork.
- Basic computer and Microsoft office skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Regulatory and compliance awareness.
- Good organizing and planning skills.
- Good understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environment.

Pay: QAR1,400.00 - QAR1,600.00 per month
