Engineering Associate

Job Summary:Perform various duties (installing, maintaining, and repairing all plumbing system and fixtures) ensuring orderly and timely completion of works orders received by Knowcross system. Perform and be involved in inspecting and troubleshooting plumbing systems, implementing preventive maintenance measures, and collaborating with other departments to address plumbing-related needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and water supply lines.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety standards.Ensure all plumbing fixtures in guest rooms and public areas are in excellent working condition.
• Install various plumbing fixtures and systems, ensure that all installations comply with local building codes and regulations.
• Diagnose plumbing issues and develop effective solutions to resolve them promptly.
• Monitor and maintain water quality in fountains, and water features to ensuring proper filtration, chemical treatment, and disinfection.
• Conduct routine maintenance of water fountains, and water features which includes cleaning, replacing components, and addressing issues related to water quality, flow, and lighting.
• Regularly inspect plumbing, drainage, and sewage systems, troubleshoot plumbing problems, and perform necessary repairs or replacements of damaged components. Service and maintain water tanks and pumps. To make sure riser and other area water lines are free from the leakage.
• Ensure that all plumbing work follows local building codes and regulations to ensure that plumbing systems meet safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
• Inspect and maintain water tank systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Identify and repair leaks, blockage, or other plumbing issues within the system.
• Monitor and operate all equipment in the pump room, including pumps, valves, and control systems, to ensure a consistent and reliable water supply.
• Install and maintain pressure regulators to control water pressure within the system. Ensure that water pressure is appropriate for the specific applications and fixtures served.
• Implement water conservation solutions to reduce water consumption, including the installation of water-saving fixtures and systems that promote environmental sustainability.
• Ensure all plumbing work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and follows health and safety guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain water quality standards, including chemical treatment, filtration, and disinfection to ensure that water is safe and complies with health and safety regulations.
• The operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pump rooms and associated equipment to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted supply of water throughout the property.
• Ensure to follow PPE and safety procedures.
• To maintain water quality, hygiene, and system integrity to meet health and safety standards.
• Always maintain safety procedures/conditions in working area and other associated areas.
• If the maintenance takes longer time to complete, immediately communicate with the Engineering Supervisor and Duty Engineer.
• Check with duty engineer for the priority job. Check the logbook for follow up jobs.
• Ensure close the maintenance request in communication devise after completing the job.
• Respond promptly to Knowcross service order made from made for requests, assistance, or emergency work orders.
• Take the utilities meter reading and update in the system accordingly.
• Always keep premises clean and tidy after completing the job.
• Communicate with Duty Engineer/Engineering Supervisor of daily work progress before ending the shift.
• Ensure log down into the logbook before ending the shift.
• Follow all the Departmental procedures and instructions.
• Follow hotel policy and procedure while entering guest rooms for repairs.
• Always maintain safety procedures/conditions in working area and other associated areas.
• Understand and practice hotel emergency fire precaution procedures.
• Ensure team work to achieve Engineer departmental goal.
• Maintain and repair all guestrooms and public area in accordance with the Perfect Room Program (PRP) procedures and standards guideline.
• All the pumprooms, workshop area and all equipment's are clean and in good working condition.
• Attending all training arranged by Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager such as safety training, safety induction, on the job training, toolbox talks, etc.
• Ensure maintenance records are kept up to date.
• Monitor Knowcross application and respond promptly to any escalated requests made for problems, assistance, or emergency work orders.

To continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and to take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found.
• Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety rules, regulations, and procedures as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace.
• The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory.
• Report any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to hotel procedure.
• Ensure that any accidents to associates, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.
• Attend Statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health & Safety.
