About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the construction of heavy Civils and major drainage systems/Sewerage Networks projects in Qatar. 

Key responsibilities, but not limited to:

• The position is responsible for coordination of quantity surveying for preparation / reviewing of bills of quantities, rate analysis, and other commercial activities for the projects.
• The position is responsible for checking and certification of payments to the contractors.
• Contracts Management experience, including resolution of contractual matters.
• Experience in Contract types including: FIDIC and Government forms.
• Experience of working with Design-Bid-Build and Design and Build Contracts in particular or a working knowledge of the same.
• Provide recommendation in processing requests for variation, addendum, extension of time, claims etc. in accordance with Authority policies and procedures.
• Experience in preparatory construction project monthly valuation.
• Experience in assessing and evaluating Contractor's claims.
• Good documentation of records.
• Must have experience to review, analyze, and recommend to the Authority in a written report, the comparative cost estimates, man-hour estimates and proposed variation orders (PVOs).
• Experience to identify variances Cost together with reasons and proposed measures, if any, to rectify and/or mitigate the identified variances.
• He / She to develop and update monthly a cost system, which shows Project cash flow requirements; records of committed costs; anticipated costs remaining, and overall estimate cost to complete.

Candidate specifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or equivalent discipline from a recognized University to the approval of the Engineer.
• Experience in construction related quantity surveying, out of which 7 years in similar pump station and STW projects or equivalent.
• Experience must include sewage projects in Large Scale infrastructure utilities, pump station and STW construction.
• Must have ability to utilize computer technology to analyse data, maintain records, analyse financial data and generate reports.
• Must have good command of English both written and spoken.
• Computer skills are mandatory
