Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum diploma (3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent trade/technical certificate; some employers prefer degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Related field.
  • Certifications: Valid "Rigging Supervisor / Rigger / Lifting-gear" certification as per client/regulatory standards (e.g. as required by Qatar Energy or relevant authority).
  • Experience: 5 –10 years of rigging/ lifting / heavy-equipment rigging in Oil & Gas / petrochemical / refinery / industrial environment; previous supervisory experience (ideally 3+ years).
  • Strong knowledge and personal competence in safe rigging practices, load calculations, interpretation of lifting plans/ drawings, load charts, rigging gear inspection & maintenance, and hazard identification.
  • Good command of English (spoken & written); ability to prepare and understand method statements, safety documents, lift plans, reports, permits, logs.
  • Leadership, supervisory skills, ability to manage and coordinate teams, ensure discipline, safety compliance, and clear communication among riggers, crane operators, and other personnel.
  • Physical fitness (good eyesight, reflexes, hearing) to handle lifting gear and supervise rigging activities safely.
