Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual inspection of weld joints, fit-up, alignment, root pass, and final weld.
  • Monitor welding activities in accordance with approved
    WPS
    ,
    PQR
    , and
    WPQ
    .
  • Inspect materials, consumables, and welding equipment for compliance with project requirements.
  • Validate welder identification, continuity logs, and ensure qualified welders perform assigned jobs.
  • Perform dimensional checks on fabricated components as per drawings and tolerances.
  • Coordinate with NDT personnel for PT, MT, UT, RT, and PMI testing.

Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI certification
    (mandatory or highly preferred).
  • Minimum
    5–7 years
    experience as Welding QC Inspector in fabrication or oil & gas workshops.
  • Strong knowledge of
    ASME Section IX
    ,
    ASME B31.3
    ,
    API
    ,
    AWS D1.1
    , and welding procedures.
  • Good understanding of NDT methods and interpretation of results.
