Job Summary

The ELV Presales Engineer is responsible for providing technical solutions, system designs, and presales support for Extra-Low Voltage systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Structured Cabling, Public Address, IPTV, BMS, and related technologies. The role involves working closely with the sales team, clients, and vendors to prepare proposals, BOQs, drawings, and presentations that meet project requirements and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical & Presales Support

  • Understand client requirements and provide suitable ELV solutions.
  • Prepare detailed system designs, schematics, and architecture diagrams.
  • Conduct site surveys and technical assessments.
  • Develop technical proposals, compliance statements, and tender documents.
  • Prepare accurate BOQs, cost estimates, and product selections.
  • Provide presales demonstrations, presentations, and technical clarifications.

2. Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with the sales team to develop winning strategies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for product specifications, pricing, and technical information.
  • Liaise with project, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure accurate delivery of proposed solutions.
  • Attend client meetings, workshops, and technical discussions.

3. Documentation & Tendering

  • Prepare tender submissions, method statements, and system descriptions.
  • Ensure proposals comply with local regulations, standards, and project requirements.
  • Review and analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings.

4. Technology & Product Expertise

  • Maintain updated knowledge of ELV systems, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Recommend innovative solutions that enhance competitiveness.
  • Evaluate new products and perform feature comparisons.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ELV systems:
  • CCTV & Video Surveillance
  • Access Control & Door Entry Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Structured Cabling (Fiber & Copper)
  • Public Address / Voice Evacuation
  • Networking fundamentals
  • BMS, SMATV/IPTV, Intercom, Parking Management (as applicable)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, or similar design tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and SLDs.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong teamwork and coordination skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 2 to 5 + years of ELV presales or technical engineering experience (depending on level).
  • Industry certifications (Cisco, Honeywell, Bosch, Milestone, Genetec, etc.) are an advantage.
