Sr Sales Engineer(Piping)

Role Summary:
PETRO-Q, a leading distributor and service provider for global oil & gas majors , is seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Engineer – Piping Division to strengthen our technical sales capabilities. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of piping systems and structures (offshore) with commercial acumen to support complex project supply chains across Qatar and the wider region.
This role demands close collaboration with EPC contractors, End Users and Engineering Consultants on major projects—including LNG, downstream, and offshore developments—ensuring PETRO-Q delivers compliant, cost-effective, and timely solutions.
Key Responsibilities
· Partner with clients to understand technical and commercial requirements and propose tailored piping solutions (pipes, fittings, plates, sections and profiles) aligned with project specifications.
· Prepare and submit competitive, compliant technical-commercial proposals, tenders, RFQ responses, and quotations in line with international codes (ASME, API, ASTM, NACE, etc.).
· Conduct technical presentations, product briefings, and value-engineering discussions with engineering teams and procurement stakeholders.
· Liaise with global manufacturers and internal quality control teams to ensure materials meet project ITPs, MTCs, and client quality standards.
· Coordinate end-to-end order execution—from PO receipt through logistics, inspection, documentation, invoicing, and payment follow-up.
· Build and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts including EPCs such as Galfar, Descon, Al Balagh, and Qatari energy majors (e.g., QatarEnergy, QAFCO, QAPCO).
· Analyze bid feedback to refine pricing, technical offerings, and commercial strategies for improved win rates.
· Support cross-functional teams in RFP/RFQ development and contribute to value-added procurement solutions for large-scale shutdowns, EPIC, and brownfield projects.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
· Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Sales Engineer in the Oil & Gas piping sector, preferably in Qatar or GCC markets.
· Demonstrated track record in supplying piping materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, copper nickel, etc.) to major projects, including shutdowns, LNG, or offshore developments.
· Working knowledge of international piping and offshore structural codes and standards.
· Familiarity with Project Supply Management documentation, including ITPs, MTCs, Certificates of Conformity, and customs clearance requirements.
· Proven experience working with or supplying globally recognized companies
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
· Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Attributes
· Experience supporting projects for energy leaders (QatarEnergy, QAFCO, QAPCO, Qatar Energy LNG, Shell etc.).
· Track record of winning orders on major shutdowns, EPIC Projects
· Knowledge of procurement workflows in integrated engineering-construction environments.
· Client-facing experience with EPC contractors in the Hydrocarbon Sector
