Job Title : Senior Drilling Engineer
Department : Drilling & Completions
Division : Engineering
Direct Supervisor : Head of Drilling Engineering

Purpose of Position:

Responsible for technical planning and execution support for offshore Drilling operations. Candidate is expected to provide advanced level technical work and operations support.

Work Schedule:

Role will be office based (Doha). Rotational (i.e., 28 x 28 days) or resident assignments will both be considered.

Primary Duties:

1. Provide advanced level expertise for high volume of drilling activity by planning, developing detailed designs and reviewing drilling procedures
2. Develop detailed days and cost estimates based on offset performance to establish project budgets; Steward budget and well AFEs during execution of operations
3. Adapt proven ERD Drilling practices to meet the challenges of longer reach, high angle sub-horizontal well design
4. Apply job knowledge and experience to ensure readiness for broad range of contingency drilling operations
5. Provide expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise during execution of Drilling programs
6. Drive contractor performance by establishing high expectations and applying contractor management tools to achieve success
7. Effectively interface with stakeholders, including other functions 
8. Enhance D&C organizational capability by providing mentorship and guidance for less experienced staff
9. Capture learnings from recent / current programs and apply in preparation for upcoming programs

10. Support management of D&C contract portfolio; provide technical support for post award contract adds and implementing change orders / contract amendments as required
11. Support development of new D&C contracts; define technical requirements and specifications to be included in contracts; provide engineering support for tendering activities, conducting technical evaluation

Education / Experience Required:
Minimum B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited and recognized university
Minimum of 8 years post-degree relevant work experience in Drilling Engineering
Experience and strong technical knowledge of Drilling & Completions equipment, materials and services (including Jackup Drilling Rigs, Directional Drilling, Drilling Fluids, OCTG, Cementing, Liner Systems, Completion Equipment, Wellheads & Trees, Wireline, Coiled Tubing, Perforating, Acid Stimulation, Fishing and Milling)
Experience in Drilling & Completions contract strategies, contract tendering, contract award, post award contract administration and contract negotiations for large Drilling & Completions programs
Strong communication skills, including strong verbal and written skills in English and ability to clearly and concisely convey results and recommendations from technical and commercial analysis to audiences
Experience working in Carbonate reservoirs and Middle East Region preferred
