Department OverviewMotorola Solutions is seeking an intern to join our Services team. This role is to support the delivery of mission-critical operations systems, encompassing the development and implementation of customer applications and company products, ensuring optimal customer performance and success.

In response to rapid advancements in IT and communications technologies, and the increasing demand for Advanced Command & Control Center software solutions built on Cloud Computing, AI, and Machine Learning (ML), we are expanding our Services team. This role will provide essential field engineering services to our customers, reflecting our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

You will initially support the design and implementation of management, service, and maintenance solutions for customer networks, with the goal of independently leading and managing these efforts
Job Description

The Field Engineering intern will partner with members of the Support & services field engineering team in Qatar and other cross function departments, providing support and performing Tier1, and some tier2 preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. They will assist the team in troubleshooting issues and preparing reports.
 

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Support the team with monitoring system alarms and events and act upon them when needed

  • Assist with receiving service requests via telephone or email

  • Confirm receiving the service request and providing estimated time of arrival (ETA) to the customer.

  • Assist with diagnosing, troubleshooting and restoring service as soon as possible to minimize operational impact and in accordance with the priority levels and response times defined in the SLA. 

  • Verify with Customer that Restoration is complete or System is functional 

  • Assist in the Repair and Return process

  • Assist with offloading system statistics and prepare performance reports

  • Support with contacting the Technical Support organization when a problem occurs and cannot be resolved locally.

  • Work closely with the Regional Customer Support Manager to escalate the open incident cases as and when needed 

  • Maintain system configuration records

  • Maintain system database backups

  • Support with performing periodic routine maintenance on the objects of service


Basic Requirements

  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronic) or equivalent course.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be team-focused and highly self-motivated with a desire to explore new approaches and technology

  • Minimum internship period of 12 months, with availability to start in November, December, or January.
