Position: Head of Sales – FMCG Retail

Industry: Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) – Retail Sector

Job Purpose:

To lead, develop, and execute the overall sales strategy for the FMCG retail division, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, and achievement of profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives and market trends.
  • Drive overall sales performance across retail outlets, modern trade, and key accounts.
  • Manage and motivate the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Analyze sales performance, market share, and customer trends to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Oversee pricing, promotions, and trade marketing activities to maximize brand visibility and profitability.
  • Ensure effective management of product availability, inventory turnover, and shelf visibility.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and business partners.
  • Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and finance departments to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
  • Monitor competitors' activities and propose counter-strategies to maintain market leadership.
  • Lead business forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes for the retail sales division.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive sales experience in FMCG, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets in retail or modern trade.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCG market dynamics, pricing strategies, and retail distribution channels.
  • Experience managing large sales teams and multi-brand portfolios.
  • Proficiency in sales analytics, forecasting, and CRM systems.
