4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Description
SPACON Processes
- Record and monitors the stock levels of all Rolling Mills Departmental items and update the database of each resource category to ensure effective material tracking that support inventory control in planning and eliminates downtime.
- Provide the accurate and proper documentation of stock movements.
- Perform stock taking duties in order to keep record of the stock or inventory levels and note order requirements.
- Prepare/ create monthly work orders/ I-procurement requests of Rolling Mills Department's spares and consumables.
- Run the material inventory stocks and tracking reports i.e. the daily, weekly, monthly reports and records and performs detailed analysis of each item's performance.
- Assist in developing and improving the departmental control systems which would minimize and/ or eliminate any operational or operative maintenance lapses.
- Prepare the monthly report on inventory including delivery, dispatch and returns.
- Assist in developing / coordinating material control related procedures. Integrate routine operational maintenance plans for Roll Lathe machines to ensure uninterrupted machining processes and collaborate with maintenance teams during scheduled shutdowns at the Roll Building and Guide Assembly shop as needed.
- Initiate purchase requisitions by preparing complex Material requirement planning spread sheets that analyse material requirement with material availability, minimum stock, previous year consumption quantity in operation etc.
- Assist in project and shutdown related materials inventory.

- Adhere to sectional policies, departmental procedures, relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in daily activities, and actively participate in SOP workshops while contributing to the Job Cycles Checks (JCC) process for precise SOP updates.

- Adhere to all applicable safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and protocols in order to uphold and maintain a healthy, secure, and environmentally responsible workplace.

- RM2 OP, Roll Building & Guide Assembly Shops, SPACON, RME, RMM, CRS, MHM, HSE; Shift activities related follow up and information passing.
External
- Nil
6. Context, Work environment & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
- Thinking within very detailed and defined rules and instructions.
- Operating with direct and detailed instructions.
- Decisions of significant impact on Roll Shop processes are submitted for approval to the Roll Shop Shift Supervisor/Section Head prior to implementation.
7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Technical / Vocational school certificate.
- Technical Diploma in relevant area is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- 2-3 years relevant work experience in conventional and CNC Machine Shops 'preferred at similar industry'.
Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):
- Basic knowledge in Roll Building and Guide Assembly, including a broad understanding of Rolling Line Operations.
- Basic knowledge in metrology, fits, tolerances, and hands-on experience.
- Basic knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Familiarity with roll pass schedules, guide tabulations, and technical drawings interpretation.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently with frequent supervision.
- Adequate English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
