Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical & Piping Engineer with a strong and proven background in FRP/GRP piping erection, jointing, and lamination works for Oil & Gas and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience, including direct involvement in QatarEnergy / QatarEnergy LNG projects.

The role requires deep technical expertise in FRP/GRP piping systems, including installation methodologies, jointing techniques, quality control, and testing, in addition to CS and SS piping.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, supervise, and manage FRP/GRP piping erection, alignment, jointing, lamination, and testing activities, along with CS and SS piping systems.

Ensure correct execution of FRP/GRP jointing methods (laminated joints) in accordance with approved procedures and manufacturer recommendations.

Review and approve piping drawings, isometrics, shop drawings, and material specifications with specific focus on FRP/GRP systems.

Oversee pipe fabrication, erection, joint preparation, lamination, curing, hydrotesting, and reinstatement works.

Conduct site inspections to verify joint quality, alignment, tolerances, and workmanship, ensuring compliance with approved ITPs and project standards.

Prepare and review method statements, ITPs, risk assessments, and technical procedures related to FRP/GRP piping works.

Coordinate closely with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure safe execution of FRP/GRP works, including chemical handling and confined space activities.

Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases, particularly for FRP/GRP joint failures or defects.

Liaise with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors for approvals, inspections, and technical clarifications.

Participate in project meetings, progress reviews, and prepare detailed technical and progress reports.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 10 years of experience in piping engineering and construction, with strong hands-on experience in FRP/GRP piping erection and jointing works.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, piping-related software, and MS Office applications.

Excellent communication and technical reporting skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).

Currently available in Qatar.
