We are seeking an experienced and immediately available
Senior Software Developer
to join our team on a 12-month contract, with a strong potential for extension. This is an exclusive opportunity for candidates based in the
Middle East, Europe, or Africa
.

The Opportunity

You will be primarily responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing
in-house portfolio optimization software
for a key client in the energy sector,
Qatar Energy
. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and continuously improving existing, high-value software applications that support critical business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development:
    Lead the development of scalable, high-performance, and reliable in-house portfolio optimization software applications.
  • Enhancements & Maintenance:
    Maintain and enhance existing applications by implementing new features, improving functionality, and ensuring system stability.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with business stakeholders (including potentially those with LNG Trading experience) to gather requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Conduct thorough
    testing, debugging
    , and performance tuning to ensure the delivery of secure and resilient applications.
  • Technical Leadership:
    Contribute to continuous improvement by staying current with emerging technologies and applying best practices to system design and processes.

Essential Requirements (7+ years experience)

We are looking for a highly skilled developer with a minimum of
7 years of experience
in software engineering and a strong background in the full software development lifecycle.

Technical Proficiency Required

  • Core Programming:
    Proficiency in at least one of
    Python, C++, C#, or MATLAB
    .
  • Backend:
    Strong expertise in
    C#
    ,
    .NET Core
    ,
    ASP.NET Web API
    , WCF, LINQ, Entity Framework, gRPC, TypeScript, and PowerShell.
  • Frontend:
    Experience with modern frameworks, specifically
    React
    or
    Angular
    , along with HTML, CSS/SCSS, or Blazor.
  • Databases:
    Hands-on experience with
    MS SQL Server
    and knowledge of other platforms like Oracle, MongoDB, or Sybase.
  • Cloud/DevOps:
    Exposure to
    AWS
    or
    Azure
    environments, and familiarity with CI/CD tools like
    Git, JIRA, Azure DevOps, or TeamCity
    .
  • Middleware:
    Knowledge of messaging systems such as
    Kafka
    (Amazon MSK), MSMQ, or Microsoft Service Bus.
  • Foundational Skills:
    A
    strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design
    .
  • Bonus:
    Direct
    LNG Trading experience
    is a significant advantage.
