We are a leading payment solutions provider currently recruiting for a dynamic and experienced Head of Internal Audit to lead our internal audit and enterprise risk management operations in Qatar.

This strategic leadership role will oversee the development and implementation of robust internal audit practices and risk frameworks aligned with bank regulations and applicable international standards. The successful candidate will be a key driver in ensuring operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective risk mitigation across our operations in Qatar and the wider region.

Key Responsibilities : Audit Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and manage a risk-based internal audit plan in alignment with bank guidelines and company strategy.
  • Lead internal audits to assess the efficiency of controls, risk management, and compliance mechanisms.
  • Provide proactive and strategic advice on audit outcomes, and drive improvements.

Risk Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and monitor key operational, strategic, regulatory, and technology risks.
  • Design and roll out a comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure risk awareness and accountability.

Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with local and regional regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory frameworks, including AML/CFT, cybersecurity, and data privacy regulations.
  • Implement robust compliance and governance programs across all operations.

Cross-Border & Regional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with regional and global offices to align risk and audit practices.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and internal control across all functional areas.
  • Support international audits and liaise with external auditors and regulators.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Communicate key audit findings, risk exposures, and mitigation strategies clearly and effectively.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or related field.
  • Professional certification (mandatory): CIA, CISA, CRMA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in internal audit, risk, or compliance – ideally within the fintech or financial services sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional audit/risk teams.
  • Clean professional record in accordance with central bank and applicable legislation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Qatari regulations, especially those issued by QCB.
  • Familiarity with international audit and risk standards (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000, IIA).
  • Experience with Islamic finance (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is advantage
