About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Menu Development Chef to support the development of an innovative concept. The ideal candidate will be passionate about crafting dynamic and original recipes, with strong expertise in Finger Foods, American-style cuisine, West Indian/Caribbean dishes, and gourmet-style burgers.
This role requires a chef with strong creative instincts, excellent culinary technique, and the ability to transform ideas into fully developed, scalable, and commercially viable menu items.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative, creative, and commercially viable recipes tailored to a cloud kitchen environment.
- Design, test, and refine menu items across:
- Finger foods
- American comfort cuisine
- West Indian/Caribbean cuisine
- Burger concepts
- Produce sample testers to demonstrate recipe quality, flavor profile, and presentation.
- Create detailed recipe documentation, including ingredients, portions, and preparation standards.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure recipes are scalable, cost-effective, and consistent.
- Maintain high culinary standards while working under tight timelines and pressure.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and support cross-functional development.
- Ensure dishes align with brand identity, quality benchmarks, and operational workflows.
Requirements
- Proven experience as:
- Menu Development Chef
- R&D Chef / Innovation Chef
- Concept Chef
- Culinary Consultant
- Strong creative abilities and a passion for developing new dishes from scratch.
- Demonstrated expertise in the relevant cuisines:
- American / Comfort food
- West Indian / Caribbean
- Street food & finger foods
- Burger development
- Ability to provide live demonstrations and tasting samples.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high culinary output.
- Knowledge of recipe costing, menu engineering, and kitchen efficiency is an advantage.
