Civil 3D Modeler

Ready to put your design and modeling skills to work on marquee infrastructure projects that will change the fabric of our community? Would you enjoy working closely with other BIM team members and Engineers to ensure a coordinated design? Parsons is now hiring a Senior Highway Design Technician for our rapidly expanding portfolio of projects. Parsons extensive experience in this field combined with your BIM knowledge and technical skills will propel your career forward.

The key responsibility for this role is to support the Civil 3D Modeler and our Project Delivery Teams to execute the day-to-day development, establishment and implementation of BIM in Parsons Main office in Doha. The Design Technician is required to possess strong computer CAD/BIM and technical skills to produce 3D/2D dimensional models required for model and drawing production, quality checking and control, coordination and constructability analysis.
 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Support the BIM Coordinator and Highways Delivery Team(s) in day-to-day BIM implementation activities.

  • Develop Civil3D Modeling and production Templates.

  • Develop 3D/2D dimensional models required for drawing preparation, clash reporting and presentation aligned with the project LOD requirements and modeling standards.

  • Extract 3D solid models for clash analysis, schedule review and QS.

  • Extract Infrastructure Design layouts, schedules, profiles, sections and cut sheets dynamically from the BIM model.

  • Prepare Highways drawings comprises of basic arrangements, layouts, profiles, sections etc.

  • Develop and extract 2D Road geometry from the models for internal reviews and coordination meetings.

  • Ensure Project Information Models (PIM's) are delivered in accordance with the agreed TIDP, MIDP and CDE protocol. 

  • Prepare BIM package submissions in accordance with project standards and requirements

  • Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs

  • Prepare models and reports for constructability analysis

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering from an accredited University.

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in Roads Modelling and Drafting.

  • Proficient in a range of BIM Authoring, Scripting, Design Review, Coordination, Simulations and Collaboration Platforms:

    • Essentials: (Civil 3D, Subassembly Composer, Dynamo, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)).

    • Preferable: (ProjectWise, Infraworks, Revit, AECOSIM, BIM 360, Microsoft Office Suite). 

  • Experts in Roadway/Rail.
