Job Summary

The WTP Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the water treatment systems used within the steel factory. This includes ensuring the proper functioning of pumps, filters, dosing systems, and maintaining water quality parameters according to plant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor Water Treatment Plant (WTP) equipment such as pumps, filters, clarifiers, RO units, and dosing systems.
  • Conduct routine water quality tests and record operational data.
  • Adjust chemical dosing levels and ensure proper stock of treatment chemicals.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on WTP equipment.
  • Maintain logs of water production, consumption, and quality parameters.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Report abnormalities or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
  • Support shutdown and maintenance works related to water treatment systems.

Requirements

  • ITI/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical or related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of experience operating WTP in steel plants, manufacturing, or industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of chemical dosing, filtration systems, and water testing procedures.
  • Ability to read WTP system diagrams and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Good understanding of safety protocols for chemical handling.
  • Physically fit and able to work in industrial water treatment environments.
