We Are Hiring – Lifting Supervisor (Oil & Gas Sector)

Location: Doha, Qatar (Candidates must be locally available with valid QID and transferable visa/NOC)

Contract Type: Full-Time (Contract)

Company Overview

We are a sub-subcontractor operating in the Oil & Gas sector, delivering engineering and construction services to major projects across Qatar. To support our lifting operations, we are seeking an experienced Lifting Supervisor to ensure the safe and efficient execution of lifting activities across project sites.

Role Overview

The Lifting Supervisor will oversee and direct lifting operations on-site, ensuring compliance with approved lifting plans, safety standards, and project specifications. This role requires strong field supervision, technical knowledge of lifting equipment, and the ability to manage riggers and operators in high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all lifting activities in line with approved Lifting Plans and Method Statements.
  • Ensure lifting crews (riggers, crane operators, signalmen) follow correct procedures and safety standards.
  • Conduct pre-lift safety checks, toolbox talks, and daily briefings.
  • Verify all lifting equipment is certified, inspected, and in proper working condition.
  • Monitor site conditions (wind, ground stability, access) to assess lifting feasibility.
  • Immediately stop unsafe operations and enforce corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with the Lifting Engineer, HSE, and Site Engineers for approvals and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of lifting activities and incidents.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience supervising lifting operations in Oil & Gas projects (Qatar/GCC preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of rigging, crane operations, and lifting standards (LOLER, API, ASME).
  • Certified Lifting Supervisor / Rigging Supervisor (LEEA or equivalent).
  • Valid H2S and Confined Space training.
