Store Manager (Pet Retail)

About the Role We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Store Manager to lead our retail operations. You will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing a dedicated team, and ensuring our customers receive expert advice for their pets. This role is perfect for a retail leader who enjoys a mix of operational management, visual merchandising, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations: Oversee all branch activities including opening/closing protocols, secure cash handling, and POS system management.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor sales staff. You will handle scheduling, conduct performance reviews, and act as the bridge between your team and HR.
  • Inventory Control: Direct the end-to-end supply chain for pet food, accessories, electronics, and grooming supplies. This includes ordering, receiving, and conducting regular audits for stock accuracy.
  • Sales Strategy: Analyze performance data to set monthly targets and implement creative strategies to boost revenue and customer retention.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a high-standard shopping environment by providing expert product guidance and maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing store.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to retail regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.

Requirements & Skills

  • Proven Management Experience: Previous experience in retail management is required (experience in pet supplies or specialty retail is a significant advantage).
  • Strong Communication: Ability to motivate a small team and communicate effectively with suppliers and senior management.
  • Retail Literacy: Solid understanding of inventory software, spreadsheets, and POS systems.
  • Product Knowledge: A willingness to learn the specifics of our diverse range (from nutrition to pet electronics).
  • Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for merchandising standards and store presentation.
