Position: Head Barista

Salary: QAR 4,000 to QAR 4,500 (based on knowledge and skills) PLUS free shared accommodation, to and from work transportation, and 1 duty meal

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Description: The Specialty Coffee Head Barista leads the café's coffee program, ensuring exceptional beverage quality, consistent preparation, and a refined guest experience. This role oversees barista performance, manages coffee equipment, maintains product standards, and contributes to menu development. As a brand ambassador for specialty coffee, the Head Barista ensures that every cup served reflects the café's commitment to excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily coffee operations, ensuring consistent preparation of specialty coffee beverages.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise baristas, maintaining high standards of technique, speed, and customer service.
  • Ensure beverage quality control, adjusting recipes, calibrations, and brewing parameters as needed.
  • Perform daily grinder and machine calibrations, ensuring optimal extraction and flavor.
  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of the bar area, equipment, and small wares.
  • Monitor inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and bar supplies, and coordinate timely reordering.
  • Collaborate on seasonal and signature drink development, offering ideas grounded in specialty coffee principles.
  • Engage with guests, providing product knowledge, recommendations, and coffee education when appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinating with maintenance or suppliers for repairs and servicing.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and service standards, representing the luxury café brand.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of barista experience in specialty coffee, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior barista role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of espresso extraction, brewing methods, grinder calibration, and milk texturing.
  • Familiarity with specialty coffee standards, including origins, processing methods, and flavor profiles.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and motivate barista teams.
  • Professional grooming, customer service excellence, and the ability to work in a fast-paced luxury environment.
