Mechanical Helper – Job Description

Position Summary
A Mechanical Helper assists mechanics, technicians, and engineers in performing maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment and machinery. The role involves supporting daily operations in workshops, industrial sites, or construction environments by handling tools, preparing work areas, and performing basic mechanical tasks under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist mechanics in repairing, assembling, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Prepare tools, materials, and equipment needed for maintenance tasks.

  • Perform basic mechanical tasks such as tightening bolts, lubricating machinery, replacing parts, and cleaning components.

  • Help with the installation and testing of mechanical systems.

  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance under guidance.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

  • Transport tools, parts, and equipment to work areas as required.

  • Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment at all times.

  • Document tasks completed and report equipment issues to supervisors.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of mechanical tools, equipment, and processes.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift or move heavy objects.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

  • Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Previous experience in a mechanical, industrial, or construction environment (preferred but not required).

Education & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Vocational or technical training in mechanics (a plus).

  • Willingness to learn and develop mechanical skills.
