Position Summary

The Architectural Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed architectural drawings, layouts, and documentation based on design concepts and instructions provided by architects. The role ensures accuracy, compliance with standards, and coordination with other disciplines for smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and layouts.
  • Create shop drawings, joinery details, finishing schedules, and coordination drawings.
  • Develop as-built drawings and update drawings based on design changes and site conditions.
  • Translate sketches, mark-ups, and conceptual designs into precise technical drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with building codes, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with structural, MEP, and interior design teams to resolve drawing conflicts.
  • Prepare 3D visualizations, if required, using relevant software.
  • Manage drawing revisions, maintain drawing logs, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support the design team during project submissions and approvals.
  • Attend coordination meetings when necessary.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); knowledge of Revit Architecture, SketchUp, or 3D visualization tools is an advantage.

  • Finishing materials and schedules
  • Ability to read & interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and design guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and drafting accuracy.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / ITI in Architecture, Drafting, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Architectural Draftsman (or as required by employer).
  • Experience in consultancy, contracting, interior design, or construction projects.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with authority submissions (municipality, fire department, etc.) depending on region.
  • Knowledge of BIM workflows.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, and interior fit-out projects.

Job Types: Temporary, Contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: QAR5,500.00 per month
