  • Conduct thorough health assessments, including physical examinations, medical histories, and developmental evaluations, to monitor a child's overall health and well-being. Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric medical conditions, including infectious diseases, respiratory disorders, allergies, gastrointestinal issues, and more.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical interventions as needed.
  • Administer and manage childhood vaccinations to protect against various preventable diseases.
  • Regularly track a child's physical and developmental growth to ensure they meet key milestones and address any concerns or delays promptly.
  • Provide guidance on preventive healthcare measures, including nutrition, safety, and injury prevention.
  • Offer advice on a child's well-balanced diet, exercise, and hygiene.
  • Offer emergency care for children, including addressing sudden illnesses, injuries, and trauma.
  • Stabilize and manage critical conditions in pediatric emergency situations.
  • Provide care and management for children with chronic medical conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and congenital disorders.
  • Attending to the health and well-being of newborns, including conducting newborn physical examinations, ensuring appropriate weight gain, and addressing common newborn issues.
  • Address pediatric mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and developmental disorders. Refer to child psychologists or psychiatrists as needed.
  • Offer preventive services such as vision and hearing screenings, lead poisoning assessments, and developmental assessments at appropriate ages.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents and caregivers on child-rearing, nutrition, immunizations, and child safety.
  • Educate adolescents about health topics relevant to their age group, including sexual health and substance abuse prevention.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, growth charts, and treatment plans.
  • Work closely with the patients and often collaborate with other medical specialists as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed by the department head.
